Cherokee Charter Academy has received two significant grants that will greatly enhance its educational offerings, furthering both student learning and opportunities for teachers. Known for its dedication to academic excellence and innovation, the school is set to expand its programs and resources thanks to these generous contributions.
The first grant, an $80,000 Expansion and Operating Grant from the South Carolina Department of Social Services, will support the school’s 4K program. This funding will primarily focus on increasing access and capacity for the 4-year-old Kindergarten program, benefiting local families.
“We’re deeply thankful for this grant, which will create new opportunities for many families in our community,” said Brad Teague, Director of Cherokee Charter Academy. “These resources will help us provide richer learning experiences that set students on a path to long-term academic success.”
In addition, the school has secured a $10,000 Innovation Grant from the South Carolina Department of Education. This grant will support the implementation of the Pear Deck Learning platform, enabling the school to track student progress and provide real-time feedback.
“The Pear Deck platform will allow us to offer personalized instruction and engaging, interactive learning experiences,” said Lindsay Walker, Principal at Cherokee Charter Academy. “Our students deserve the best, and these grants will help us deliver on that promise.”
With this new funding, Cherokee Charter Academy is well-positioned to continue its role as a regional leader in education, offering students the academic rigor and support they need to excel.
The school would like to thank Mrs. Sharon Strickland, Mrs. Briana Wilson, and Dr. Lindsay Walker for their hard work and leadership in securing these two grants.
